[Kise don't give a FUCK if Aomine's hungry or not. He takes out Aomine's carton and spoon, setting it next to him. As if he didn't hear Aomine at all (he did, he just doesn't care).]

Sorry we didn't get to spend much time together at the cookout, Aominecchi.

[He says it casually, but he's watching Aomine carefully for his reaction.]

[he pinches the bridge of his nose. well at least this explains why the other has been so focused on ignoring the questions he's asked. he squares his jaw because he just... doesn't want to think of the cookout. it started off great, but it ended horribly. and the only one he can blame for that happening is himself.]

Look I don't need to hear it from you too. I know I fucked up, okay. So if that's why you're here you can leave.

Eh? Of course you do, Aidacchi is very convincing. [Though Kise never got beaten up like Aomine, he feels a pang of sympathy. Not that Aomine doesn't totally deserve every single scratch and bruise, though.]

[Kise opens his carton, taking a small spoonful.]

Since I don't have to worry about modeling here, it's nice to just eat what I want.

And I said that I'm not hungry. [he looks at the other and frowns.] Good for you.

Aominecchi! Are you going to reject this delicious ice cream I got for you?

[He takes another bite, waving his spoon admonishingly at Aomine.]

Ice cream helps with feelings. It's a rule- so. You should have some.

Maybe you should double check with a person to see if they actually want it. [he sighs.] But if you want me to have it so bad I'll save it for later-- what? We're not going to have a feelings fest are we?

Well, no- [Another bite, a hum of thought.] But you know, if you wanted to talk- I'm actually pretty good at listening.

[his lips purse together a bit as he finally sits down on the other side of his bed. he idly watches a drop of condensation roll down the side of the small ice cream carton.]

I don't know what happened Kise. [he heaves a sigh] I know she has feelings for someone else. Even if she's moved on from whatever feelings she had for Tetsu I know she likes someone. She's been having papa Italy teaching her how to cook. I just-- I let whatever this was get in the way. It was in the heat of the moment and I wasn't thinking and now I've hurt her. And what's worse is I don't think we'll ever be able to get back on the same page.

[Kise hums thoughtfully, spoon still in his mouth as he considers Aomine's troubles. It's- kind of cute, actually, how worried he is about his connection with Momoi. He never shows it, but he really does care for her.

Seeing Aomine talk about emotions is- kind of jarring, too. But refreshing! And Kise can't help but feel special getting to hear it.]

Mm- Aominecchi, isn't who you think Momocchi likes unimportant?

[He digs his spoon into his ice cream, swirling it around.]

Rather- isn't it more important who Momocchi chooses to like?

[He takes out his spoonful, smiling gently.]

No, I don't think you'll be on the same page. I think- you'll move a few chapters ahead. [Please understand the metaphor, Aomine.]

[maybe it's the lack of sleep he was able to get last night-- no okay, it most definitely is the lack of sleep he wasn't able to get last night. but it feels like kise is speaking in a different language. he quirks a brow as he looks at the other in confusion.] What in the hell are you talking about?

[slaps his spoon away.] Are you going to tell me or just leave me hanging?

This would go a lot easier if you'd eat the ice cream! [He pouts, staring sadly at the melting ice cream!!]

Anyway, what I'm saying is- your relationship may change, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing, Aominecchi.

I'll eat it later if it means so much to you, jeez-- [he pauses.]

What do you mean? How many childhood friends have you kissed and have had things turn out to be fine afterwards?

[he doesn't get it i'm so sorry sobs]

I don't really know what it's like to have one, and honestly relationships aren't my thing.

[He'd never admit it to anyone else, but- well, if he expects Aomine to open up, he should be truthful himself, too, right?]

Maybe my advice isn't worth much, but it's wrong to see you two this way. How do you think she feels right now, Aominecchi? Do you think she's mad at you for the kiss?

[he looks flatly at the other.] If she isn't then I'd be really surprised.
