He's not really sure how to respond to that without seeming-- weird. He can't just suddenly unload all his deepest thoughts of hero-worship onto Aomine's lap. Especially when that's not the point of the conversation.]

Right now, Aominecchi. [A smile.] You're so worried you're going to lose her, you aren't even hungry.

What does that have anything to do with-- [and then he pauses. it... well it makes sense. throughout his stay here he's been either sleeping a lot or stuffing his face with food. he's not that much of a hungry beast like kagami is, so he didn't really make anything of it when he rejected the ice cream kise bought for him. (which is probably a melting puddle of goop by now, whoops. he'll have to put that in the freezer so it can freeze all over again)

but now that he's bringing it up... well. it's too jarring. he looks down at his lap and bites his lip a little.] Damn... [he runs a hand down his face.] I'm not used to feeling this way, especially when it involved Satsuki. If you told me that I'd end up kissing her when we were back home, or when I first got here I probably would have laughed. But then we just-- I don't know... got closer? I've never done this sort of thing before, and the last person I ever want to hurt is her. [he shakes his head as he lets out a weak sounding laugh.] I don't think I can even recall a moment where I've been this cautions about starting something.

What if things don't turn out the way she expected?

[As stupid as Aomine may be, his feelings are genuine, and he honestly doesn't know what to do or how to proceed. Kise's heart hurts for him in many ways, and not even Kise knows what to do from here.

Thinking about what-ifs like that doesn't suit you, Aominecchi.

It's good to be cautious. But don't let something that may not even happen stop you, you know? What if it turns out exactly how she expected- or even better than what she expected? Or just different- a lot of things can happen. You don't know which it'll be until you get there.

[he frowns and nods his head.] I guess you've got a point. I won't know till I try. I just... I just hope she can forgive me for what I've done.

[He finishes off his carton and replaces the lid.]

[he nods. and now that his stomach is done feeling like it's been through the laundry he finally feels a little at ease. he also feels like he can sleep for a million years too. so he's going to sink further and further onto his bed.
