It's something they have in the spring at American high schools. It's like, a fancy dance, where you get dressed up and hang out with your friends and stuff. I've seen some pictures, and it looks like a lot of fun!

[because he would have gotten an earful if he told her no. his face drops tho.] Dressed up? Why do you have to get dressed up to hang out with your friends?

Because we're teenagers, and teenagers never have an excuse to get dressed up. Girls love getting dressed up, and a proper young lady has to have an escort, of course! [it's all about the girls, the boys are just along for the ride]

That shouldn't be hard, though. I'm either going to be in black or white, since I can't really do too many other colors with this. [She grabs a lock of her FUCKING PINK hair and makes a face.]

Well I guess I could wear a white suit... Is it a suit? Or do I have to get a tux? [he pauses and quirks a brow.] What are you talking about. A lot of things could go with your hair color. No, you could do a suit, as long as it actually fits. White would look really nice with your complexion.

[oh, she....actually wasn't expecting him to have anything to say about what colors she looked good in, and the longer he talked, the more she blushed.] Ah, um, thank you. [he doesn't know why he said those stuff either, tbh. but she's usually brimming with self confidence? so those few moments where he sees her criticizing or bemoaning certain features, it... well, it doesn't sit well with him. he doesn't know exactly what to make of these emotions either, so he'll continue to leave them alone for now.] Yeah, alright.
