[Instead of responding, Kise just heads to their usual place. He's nervous as hell, but after his couple of wins last time, he's feeling pretty confident. And even if he did lose, he could dodge the bullet. Aomine's amazing at basketball, but surely he's not so bright in the matters of the heart, right? The whole Momoi thing really proved that.

He gets there quickly, and he's already bouncing the ball and throwing a few shots, lost in thought.]

[aomine takes his no reply as him on his way, so he decides to head on over to the courts himself. once he sees the other he nods and waves at him.] Hey.

[but when kise doesn't turn around he quirks a brow. he walks closer to him and taps him on the shoulder.] You there?

[Kise jumps in surprise and misses a shot. He laughs it off, a bit awkward and forced, but just the tiniest amount. He turns a big bright smile to Aomine as he goes to fetch the ball and bounces it Aomine's way.]

Aominecchi, you scared me! When did you become Kurokocchi all of a sudden?

I said hey. You were the one who ignored me.

Sorry, sorry- I was just. Thinking.

[Quickly moving away from that though, he starts moving toward the center of the court.] Anyway, now that you're here, let's play!

I hope you were thinking about how serious you're going to be playing against me, Kise. [he doesn't feel like he should say this, but at the same time he doesn't want kise to not play seriously against him. not now, not for this.

he regards the other with a nod as he quickly gets into a stance. and with that they play ball]

Who do you think I am, Aominecchi? [Kise plays hard and fast- like always, because playing against Aomine is one of the most exhilarating things in his life. He loves it so much, he forgets about their little wager, forgets about that awkward confession, that kiss. He just throws himself into basketball.

Sadly, though, his Perfect Copy only lasts so long now that his healing ability is gone. And he finally has to stop when he can feel the last of his energy slip away. He sits on the pavement, breathing harshly and just trying to catch his breath.]

Ah... this sucks.

You make it sound like it's the end of the world. [he frowns as he supports the ball against his hip.] Anyway do you want to grab something to eat first before we talk?

Yeah well...

[Aomine's not the one about to confess... Kise hauls himself up, wiping at his face with his shirt.]

Mm, okay. Burgers?

[he nods.] Yeah, I think I can as well. Come on. [gotta calm his nerves with a teriyaki burger yo.]

[Kise makes his way to the nearest burger place, hands shoved in the pockets of his basketball shorts. For once, he's not filling up the space between them with mindless chatter. His eyes are trained on the ground, his heart beating faster and faster with each passing second.

He can't believe this is really going to happen.]

Go find us a booth. [he looks over at kise, and sighs. he's not sure if the other is actually hungry or not, but he's going to get the other a burger just in case. kind of like a payback for the ice cream kise brought him when he was dealing with his emotions for satsuki.

actually... this is just like that whole ordeal, isn't it??? but with the roles reversed.

anyway-- once he has their food he makes his way over to the table kise found for them.]

[Kise's watching out the window as he waits for Aomine. When Aomine sits down, he looks over with a smile. He assumes the other burger is for Aomine, so he doesn't reach out to take it. His heart hasn't calmed down, and his head is full of ways to craft how he's going to say this.

At the very least, Aomine's agreed to play one on one with him. So he can't wait to end their friendship or anything, right?]

I hear this place is pretty good...

[he picks up his burger and starts eating it. in between chewing he motions to the other burger.]

That one's yours, eat up. [he takes another bite and nods.] Yeah, it's pretty tasty.

[will he cut to the chase, or will he eat his burger. only god knows.]

[He looks at the burger... but he did just play some intense basketball, so he decides to take it and bite into it. It's delicious, so the place lives up to his reputation.

Kise will not speak of the matter lmao. Because Momoi was correct and Kise is the master of not approaching the subject.]

[he smacks his lips together.] And you'll burn it off again tomorrow, so what's the big deal?

[he frowns as he takes a bite into his burger. GUESS AOMINE'S GONNA HAVE TO MAN UP. after he finishes. give him one more comment before he does the thing.]

[Kise perks up a little- does this mean Aomine's forgotten? Feeling a bit relieved, he pouts.]

but ok in all seriousness. he turns to look at kise.] So... about that kiss. [he raises his hand up.] And before you even think about interrupting me don't, because I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish if I do. But... [he takes a deep breath and exhales.]

I talked about it some with Satsuki, but it's still very confusing to me? I mean, I still like boobs, I like boobs a whole lot, but I didn't necessarily dislike... kissing you? If that makes sense? When I was talking to her she said that it did since we live in a society where shit like this isn't.... really mentioned or brought up a whole lot. [Damn it, he didn't forget. Kise was about to object, saying it was just the landlord's doing, that it was no big deal, that they could just forget about it. But Aomine holds up his hand and keeps talking. He's not entirely sure what Aomine means by "this" not being mentioned or brought up a whole lot, but he thinks it might mean whatever it is Kise's felt for a few years now.

He flusters a little when Aomine mentions that he can't...stop thinking about kissing him. Kise expected to be utterly rejected, but Aomine wants to kiss him?]

[he looks down and sighs.] I don't know if I can even like you the way that you like me, but if I enjoyed kissing you as much as I did then maybe... it's a start? I don't know.

Polly...ana? [He has no idea what that means but. He definitely understands 100% what Aomine means, anyway. Kise never knew there was a term for it, but of course Momoi would be the one to know. He adds that to the list of things they should talk about one day. But that time is not now. Now it's time to talk to Aomine.]
