[while momoi didn't end up planning it this way, the night before aomine's birthday, they ended up sleeping in their own rooms. all week, she'd been getting up early to practice with italy to make sure she could do everything for breakfast herself. it would end up being more of a brunch, of course, because what kind of birthday would it be if she woke him up at the crack of dawn?

so she took her time, making sure the pancakes are perfectly browned, the eggs over-easy with the yolk still perfectly in tact, the bacon perfectly crisped. neither of them usually ate breakfast, instead opting for energy bars or something fast, like cereal, on their way out the door, but this. it would be nice for a change, right?

putting all the food on the tray italy had left out for her the night before, she made her way up the stairs, balancing it against her hip as she let herself into his room.]

Daichan~ [she says it in a sing-song voice.]

[aomeanie]

[aomine groans a bit as he pokes his head out from under the covers.] Whaddya want?

[strawberrysorbae]

[she sets the tray down on his desk, moving over to peck him on the lips when his head pops out from underneath the blankets.] I made you breakfast in bed!

[aomeanie]

[he reaches for a piece of crispy bacon and pops it into his mouth.] It's like... noon, so wouldn't it be better for lunch in bed?

[he swallows.] It looks good though, Satsuki. I never thought that I would say this, but, your cooking is really getting better.

[strawberrysorbae]

[she nudges him until he scoots over enough for her to join him in bed, balancing the tray on her lap until he's sitting upright enough that she can hand it over.] Noon is about the time you eat breakfast, so!

[at his praise, she blushes, a smile on her face.] Thank you! I've been practicing with Papa in the morning a lot to make sure everything was perfect today. Happy birthday, Daichan!!

[aomeanie]

[he waves a hand.] I eat actual lunch food at noon though. [another pause as he steals another piece of bacon.] Well whatever you're doing keep it up.

[strawberrysorbae]

It's nice to change it up every once in a while. [besides, it technically made this "brunch", not lunch. but the explanation would be lost on him.] I'm glad you like it, though! I'm going to work my way up to more difficult things eventually, like teriyaki burgers. [yes teriyaki burgers were difficult for her.]

[aomeanie]

[he smiles.] You know if I had heard this before your cooking improved I would have been afraid, but now I'm kinda looking forward to it.

[strawberrysorbae]

[ugh wow you can't just smile at her like that, it makes her all flustered.] I'm glad I don't have to worry about you lying to me about improving. I'm just glad you're willing to give me another chance after how awful I was.

[aomeanie]

Well the other things you made were actually edible, and you're cooking with Papa, so I know you're actually trying.

[strawberrysorbae]

I am trying, thank you for noticing. [she practically glows at his praise.] Do you have any plans for the day, birthday boy?

[aomeanie]

Uh, not really? Probably play ball with Kise since I couldn't exactly do that for him on his birthday. [since they weren't exactly talking at that point.]

[strawberrysorbae]

That sounds like fun! I know he's probably more excited about it than you are. [she winks.] I'm going to keep you all to myself this evening, though, so don't make any plans! I have something special planned.

[aomeanie]

[he quirks a brow.] Oh? Okay, sure.

You gonna tell me what it is?

[strawberrysorbae]

Nope! Otherwise, it wouldn't be a sur~prise~! [she says in a sing-song voice.]

[aomeanie]

[sticks his tongue out at her.] Alright then, I'll see you later tonight.

[strawberrysorbae]

[you have no idea what you're in for, buddy. part of her feels a little guilty for abandoning him for most of his birthday, but she is a little nervous about the upcoming evening. maybe it's a little presumptuous? but whatever, she's gone this far, she isn't gonna back down now.

having already secured the key card from papa and stashed an overnight bag in the room (it has a change of clothes for both of them and stuff like that), she heads to the athletic center to meet him.]

[aomeanie]

[oh goodie you can see him wipe the floor with kise's butt.]

[strawberrysorbae]

[this is a familiar scene, but she's just so happy to see kise playing again and to see them close like they were before the fight. she stands to the side, leaning against the wall as they finish up. aomine kicks his ass, of course, but kise doesn't seem bothered; he's just happy to have played.]

[aomeanie]

[aomine actually looks happy for once as well. he pulls at his tank a little so he can use it to rub the sweat off of his face. enjoy the view satsuki.]

[strawberrysorbae]

[she is so glad that she already decided that birthday sex was gonna be a thing, this is practically foreplay. he's so hot, and the fact that he looks so happy just makes her feel warm all over. when he looks over at her, she gives him a little wave.]

[aomeanie]

[he turns to kise, says a few things and then heads back to get his bag. he gives him a parting wave before he trots over to satsuki.] Hey, sorry we were just finishing up. You ready to go?

[strawberrysorbae]

Don't apologize, it was fun to watch you guys play. It feels like it's been forever. [she smiles up at him as they start out of the gym.] Did you have fun?

[aomeanie]

[he nods.] Sure did. But enough about that, we can talk about that later. I want to know what my surprise is. I am the birthday boy after all.

[strawberrysorbae]

[she leans up to peck him on the lips, even though he tastes like sweat. (he's been gross and sweaty for like, 75 percent of the time she's known him, so she doesn't really care).] You'll find out soon enough! [she leads the way when they leave the sports center, heading towards town instead of towards home.]
