[he answered pretty promptly, so she doesn't linger outside (like she used to do in the evening, paranoid as she was about walking in on something) and instead lets herself in, walking over and flopping down on the bed.] Whatcha doin?
[he pauses. well... it sucks that he closed the shoe mag he was looking at because that would have been a very appropriate thing to distract himself with.] Did he now.
[the fact that he doesn't immediately shove her off the bed or shut her down is a good sign.] Mhm. He said that he's been really torn up about it for a while, and thought we were just being overprotective because we were his friends. But he talked to Richan and has been continuing with physical therapy and wearing a brace and everything.
Well good for her. [he scoffs a little and shifts a little in his chair. he pinches the bridge of his nose.] So did he run into you, or did you go to him?
[she shifts so that she's sitting up properly on the bed, her knees hugged to her chest. he looks so...not mad, or upset, but just unhappy.] I.....I left him a little something in his mailbox for his birthday. But it didn't have my name on it or anything!! He must have figured it out, and came to find me so he could apologize properly.
[he sighs.] Were you even going to tell me that you made him something? [now he just looks bad. bitter and bad. those are not a good combination. he could have... probably... fuck i don't know. done a little thing too for his birthday had he known that she did.]
[she bites her lip, messing with the end of her ponytail.] I didn't want you to get mad at me and tell me I was wasting your time. I didn't think he'd know it was me, and even if he did, I didn't think he'd do anything about it. It's been ages, at this point. [her voice is small and unsure.]
[god i'm so tired i didn't even catch my mistake with were. oops] Well congratulations for you then.
[he frowns. he knows he's being childish. but he thought that they were at least in this together. and now that he knows that she's made up with kise and he's... still not, well. it's awkward. and he knows he should probably take the advice tetsu gave him and approach the other first, but... well now he's not so sure he wants to anymore.]
[she purses her lips, eyebrows drawing down in a frown in perhaps a poor attempt to hide how much his comment stings.] Don't be like that, I wasn't trying to get anything out of it. I'm just too sentimental for my own good.
[he pinches the bridge of his nose again.] What did you want me to say Satsuki? What were you honestly expecting me to think after you tell me that-- [he cuts himself off with another sigh.] Whatever, as long as he truly meant the apology I don't care what you do.
I wasn't expecting anything from you, either. It just felt like the sort of thing I should tell you rather than have you find out yourself at some later date. I'm sorry. [she squeezes her arms around her legs a little tighter.] I just didn't want to end up in a fight with you, too. I wouldn't be able to take it.
That's not what I-- [he huffs.] Look-- I'm glad you decided to tell me now rather than having me find out that you two made up later on. I'm just... I don't know, but I'm not mad. So stop thinking that I'm mad at you.
[she's quiet for a moment, studying him and the obvious look of discontent on his face. wordlessly, she pats the space on the bed next to her, her expression saying she won't take no for an answer.]
[she leans over and headbutts his shoulder.] Kichan will come talk to you. I think he's just scared, that you meant what you said about being done with him for good.
Tetsu and I are the least emotionally stupid. [another headbutt.] I'm not saying you do, but don't think that this means he doesn't care. He's probably way more worried about making up with you than me, so it's going to take him a little longer to work up the courage to approach you.
[he pinches her cheek] I don't see why. He should know by now that I'm far more approachable if I know that you're happy. [wait... wait. that-- that was not how he wanted things to come out, nope. let's move the fuck on to a different subject that still pertains to what they're talking about.]
It'll probably take him a million years before he works up the courage.
[oh. oh. even his dumb pinching of her cheek isn't enough to keep her from smiling at his words, resting her head against his shoulder properly.] I'll talk him around, don't worry.

[a beat] You're not cooking anything, are you?

[ugh, she needs to just go ahead and get this over with.] I saw Kichan yesterday. He came over to the house to...well, to apologize.

Was it at least heartfelt?
