I won't lose. A battle's no fun if you don't win.
Aomine is leagues ahead of most of the basketball players in Japan. When he was in middle school he along with the other starting members on his team, were considered to be part of the Generation of Miracles. His own abilities can be described as extremely fast, strong, and skillful. He accomplishes this easily by being able to pull off insanely fast crossovers, changing the direction and speed of his movements and the paths he takes to the hoop. He’s also incredibly strong, and can dunk against other centers and players with ease. He also once broke the hoop off of the rebound board in his high school gym. You could rank his skills as such: he has a 10/10 in both physical and abilities, and technique. He ranks a 9/10 in mental strength and an 8/10 in stamina.

While Aomine is very fast, he seems to also have great control over accelerating and decelerating in a game as seen where he was able to break away rather quickly from Kagami in his match against Seirin. He was also able to stop just as fast before he could have gotten intercepted by Seirin’s defense and follow up with a fadeaway shot with ease. He can also pretty much shoot the basketball from any position on the court and have it go in successfully. In fact, one of Aomine’s most favorite shots to do is called the formless shot. This is where his body is almost nearly parallel to the ground when he shoots the ball.

He wouldn’t have been able to get where he is today though if it weren’t for his constant practicing as a child. He would oftentimes visit a streetball court and play with the older kids every day until he perfected his form, style, and skill. Because of this, he’s able to pull off crazy moves and feints with ease. Which also explains why his moves on the court are so unpredictable and erratic.

Another trick Aomine has up his sleeve is the Zone. He’s the first character throughout the series who is shown accessing it. He’s also the only one who seemingly has full control over being in the zone as well. When a player enters the zone successfully they’re able to reach their full playing potential. In Aomine’s case, whenever he enters the zone his speed doubles tenfold while his powers also increase drastically. His ability to score from anywhere also seems to escalate as well. He doesn’t go into the zone often though, because he hasn’t played against any true opponents. And the only one who seems to really know whenever he’s playing to his fullest is the captain on his basketball team. (Since he seemed to have go into the zone while playing against him.)

As far as actual strengths and weaknesses go— Aomine’s main weakness would probably be lethargy. He’s too lethargic and doesn’t really seem to really care about much, he especially cares less about something when it doesn’t even involve him. His pride can be seen as both a strength and a weakness. He’s very prideful and he knows he’s the best out there when it comes to basketball, and he’s the type to shove when shoved back. But when he’s faced with people who aren’t on his level he becomes— well, lethargic. He see’s no point in playing against someone who isn’t as good as he is, because that’s wasting his time, energy, and talents. When he is, however, “pushed back” he’s ferocious and is never the type to back down from a situation. He also has a soft spot for his old teammates, and doesn’t like it when he sees that they’re being made fun of or being taken advantage of.
I don't even remember how to receive your passes anymore.
Lethargic, arrogant, and rude would probably be the best words to use to describe Aomine. He’s very lazy and could probably be compared to a lazing panther since most of the time you see him he’s either yawning, or sleeping on the roof of his high school. Aomine can be extremely rude to his upperclassman as well as oftentimes saying really mean and offending things to them. He’s also been shown to skip out on practice and games as well as showing up late to a couple of matches as well. His arrogance shines brightly whenever he gives his upperclassmen reasons as to why he skips out on practices oftentimes saying the only one who can beat him, is himself. He knows he’s the hot shit, and sees no reason to show up to practice when he could take on a team easily. He wasn’t like this before though, and things probably wouldn’t have gotten this bad if certain events didn’t shape him up to be the way he is today.

When he was a student at Teikou Junior High, Aomine was actually (somewhat) pleasant to be around. In fact a huge clue as to why he is is because he smiled a lot more than he does in the present time. But anyway— regardless of that, you could also definitely tell that he loved basketball a lot more when he was younger. He would practice relentlessly so he could improve his skills. He even looked forward to being able to play in games because that was the only time he could show off the new moves and skills he had worked so hard on to develop. Aomine was different from the other players though, and instead of stopping at his limits like the other players around him, he continued to shoot forward and grow even more. It took a while for him to notice it though, but, whenever he did it greatly bothered him. And the moment he realized that no one could take him on competitively was when he started to skip out on practice. He would also hold himself back at games since no one could really get on his level and compete with him. Because if he did play competitively they would basically make way for him to score another point; they wouldn’t even try at all.

This, however, thankfully changes the moment he plays against Taiga Kagami. When he was younger he would oftentimes search for that one opponent to meet him head on at games, but, as time grew on he gave up hope that he would ever find that rival. When he first played against Kagami he didn’t really think much of him. In fact, he mocked him during their first one-on-one match against each other. He even compares his own time playing with Kuroko with Kagami’s and mocks Kagami for being too weak a player for Kuroko to fully thrive in his element by telling the other that his light is too dim. It’s only when Kagami actually defeats him and his team at the Winter Cup does he truly come to accept the other as a good player and rival. Outside of his old teammates, he’s been the only player to be able to keep up with him (and keep up with him in the zone, no less!) and play with him competitively. Despite the rocky start they had at the start they have a lot of similarities. They both enjoy playing basketball, and their playing style is very similar as well. They also, apparently, share the same shoe size and a similar love for Jordans as well.

Despite the hardass front Aomine likes to put up, he has a huge soft spot for his old teammates. Whenever he defeated Kuroko’s team at the Inter-High one of his teammates was trash talking him and saying what a pathetic player the other was. Aomine got so infuriated by the comment that he punched him in the locker room. He also confronted Haizaki (an ex-Teikou player) and ended up punching him in the face just to make sure that the other didn’t go chasing after Kise for revenge after his team lost against Kise’s. He also has a very short temper, and will get on someone quickly for bothering or agitating him. As shown with how he treated Satsuki whenever she had the coach take him out of a game due to injuries from a previous one.

Aomine is a huge fan of gravure magazines and his favorite idol is Mai Horikata. His type girls with big breasts. His favorite food is takoyaki burgers and his least favorite food is goya. His specialty is catching small animals like cicadas and crayfish. When he was younger he got stung by a bee once and ever since then he’s hated them since. The only subject he’s really good at is Japanese History. He also apparently writes everything out in katakana.

Aomine has a very close relationship with Momoi Satsuki. They’ve been friends ever since childhood and he would oftentimes play basketball with her. They were even on a first name basis up until Momoi thought that it would be weird if she continued to call Aomine Dai-chan, so she started calling him Aomine-kun instead. Much to his dismay. She’s kind of like his second mom though, and used to make lunches for him in junior high…much to his dismay, again. And despite the attitude he sometimes has towards her, he does really care a lot about her. So even if he gets into a fight with her he instantly regrets it once he knows how upset he actually made her. She’s the only one who can force him to wake up on his off days and take her somewhere nice. Though it’s not just a one way street for these sort of things. Whenever his love for basketball was reignited, she was the first person he asked to accompany him in shopping for new gear. Also, while Momoi might be his ideal type (a big breasted girl) he shows no remote interest in dating her or being with her romantically. It’s probably got something to do with the fact that he views her differently from the other girls at school.

His friendship with Tetsuya Kuroko is no laughing manner either. He befriended the other player when they attended Teikou together. He was one of the players at the school that he would oftentimes practice with. Despite not having all that much in common with the other, he knew that Kuroko had just about the same amount (if not more) of passion for the sport as he did. In fact Kuroko’s perseverance in not giving up is something that fuels Aomine to train even harder. Whenever Kuroko would express interest in quitting the team, Aomine would find ways to persuade him in to not not giving up playing a sport he knows the other loves so much. Their playing brings out the best of each other and because of the amazing synchronization they have, people started to call them the Light and Shadow. His relationship with Kuroko started to wane a little as he continued to grow as a player. Kuroko managed to cheer him up by telling him that there was someone out there who was just as powerful a player as he is, and that he would meet him some day, but… In the end it just didn’t do enough. And he sort of let his friendship with Kuroko drift away. After he loses in the Winter Cup though is when he sort of gets to patch things up with Kuroko. He even gets coerced into teaching the other how to shoot properly.

Another important relationship to mention would be his friendship with Kise. He kind of inspired Kise to join the basketball team and played many one-on-one games with him until he got too tired to carry on. His relationship with Kise is more of the push and pull kind, meaning they push each other in a way to perform to their best abilities. He does find Kise to be a very formidable opponent, but in the end he just isn’t someone that can push him like Kagami.
That doesn't give us a reason to lose to scum like them.
He’d be in his Vorpal Swords uniform (which looks like this). He’d also have his duffle bag with him that probably contains a couple of towels, and a spare change of clothes.
